US vegan tuna range released at Walmart

The new tuna range from Loma, a subsidiary of Atlantic Natural Foods, comes in three flavors: spring water, lemon pepper, and sriracha. Pouch versions of the alternative tuna product also exist, which will come with additional sesame ginger and chipotle flavors.

Loma Linda’s vegan tuna is purportedly cholesterol-free and contains 8-20% less sodium than conventional tuna.

Originally founded in 1890 to serve the vegetarian Seventh Day Adventist community, Loma Linda also produces canned tuna and appetizers like a chipotle bowl with black beans, according to the article.

Plant-based tuna is an increasingly prevalent alternative to traditional tuna, with other US companies such as Good Catch Foods releasing similar products in the past few months.
